Window Shopping Wednesday - Angled Pallet Knives

Firstly, I'd like to apologise for the lack of "Window Shopping Wednesday" last week. A lot of cakes and packing for a camping holiday made things a bit hectic! The plus side is that making the Royal Baby Cake made me go hunting for a new piece of equipment.

I stencilled the royal icing crowns using a pallet knife. I'm fairly pleased with the result as it was my first stencilling attempt, but I'd like to get the icing a bit more level next time.

Using a normal pallet knife, I found that I couldn't get close enough for a level result. An angled pallet knife would make it easier to get closer to the cake for a more even result.

This week, I've been looking a the following pallet knives:

This Tala pallet knife is from Dunelm Mill. It is currently priced at £3.29. It has a narrow, rounded tip to make it easier to spread buttercream and royal icing.

You can find the direct link here.

This pallet knife is from Lakeland. It is currently priced at £4.79. The tip is still rounded, but this knife does not narrow like the Tala one.

You can find the direct link here.

This Wilton / PME pallet knife is from My Cake Decorating Shop. It is currently priced at £4.99 and looks fairly similar to the one from Lakeland.

You can find the direct link here.

This Ateco pallet knife is from Cake Stuff. It is currently priced at £7.95, but still a saving on the £9.99 retail price. It is slightly smaller than the others at 8", but still a good size for decorating with.

You can find the direct link here.

I'm definitely going to pick one of these up before having another go at stencilling!

Which one would you choose?

Have you used any of the products I've shown here? If so, what do you think of them?

I'll be sure to review whichever ones I do buy, so I will keep you all posted!
